I began my study of bodywork in the late 1980s while working at East/West Bookstore in New York City. During this time, I started my Shiatsu training at the Ohashi Institute, graduating in 1993. Additionally, I became a certified personal trainer and completed the sports massage program at the Swedish Institute.

My interest in healing arts and yoga inspired me to earn certifications in Thai Massage, Reflexology, and Reiki. About five years ago, I began practicing Tai Chi under the guidance of exceptional teachers. In 2023, I became a certified Tai Chi and Qigong practice leader at the Omega Holistic Institute, where I have worked and studied extensively. The following year, in 2024, I earned my Qigong Teacher certification.

I received my undergraduate degree in 1991 and worked in the college's physical education department. I also served as an adjunct faculty member in the continuing education department, teaching aquatics. Currently, I teach swimming throughout the year at a community center in the Bronx, offering group classes and private lessons.

In addition to my healing arts work, I have a background in art, including printmaking, painting, mask-making, and crafting dreamcatchers.

Teaching Level 1 Shiatsu at the Five Lights Center of Shiatsu this year has been incredibly rewarding. I look forward to leading practice classes and incorporating Tai Chi into the curriculum. Tai Chi complements Shiatsu study beautifully, as both disciplines emphasize the "Four Baskets" of knowledge: meditation, breathing, gentle movement, and self-massage.
